A commitment to inclusiveness is fundamental to the outcomes that we at Nabni seek to promote and achieve. This includes a commitment to recognising, acknowledging and engaging a diversity of stakeholders and making processes as accessible as possible to all. We are also committed to supporting the inclusion and participation of individuals and groups that have faced marginalisation in the past.
We commit to upholding the principle of transparency in all aspects of our operations. This includes a commitment to ensuring that all relevant information is communicated in a timely manner and that grant allocation, management decisions and the rationale guiding these are effectively documented and communicated. We will strive to involve a wide range of stakeholders, including local NGOs and communities, in consultations around key funding and programmatic processes and decisions.
We seek to play the role of an enabler. While partner projects themselves remain a key outcome, we strive to ensures that equal emphasis is placed on ensuring equal, mutually accountable and respectful relationships with partner civil society organisations. We also seek to build strong relationships where possible, with local and national authorities, peer organisations or institutions working on similar themes, and with donors, amongst others.
Nabni’s Commitments to Equitable Partnerships: The commitments outlined in the document are in keeping with our ambition to ensure that partnerships are fair and equitable. They seek to translate our commitment to equitable partnerships into concrete, measurable actions that guide all aspects of our work.
We strive to ensure that local communities and all groups within them, lead the process of analysing the causes and drivers of violence, grievances and conflict, and in defining and prioritising potential responses to these. We are not prescriptive in defining projects and activities but rather encourage consultation by partners with a diverse range of stakeholders and groups, to arrive at a shared understanding of challenges and potential solutions.
We recognise the need for a dynamic and agile approach to our work and processes and commit to being sensitive to changes in the operational context, actively seeking feedback, learning and adapting accordingly. We also seek to serve as a platform for dialogue and exchange among stakeholders with an interest in themes linked to our activities, while also documenting and sharing learning and best practices from our own work.
We are committed to having a positive impact on the social and natural environments in which we support projects and to the principles of conflict sensitivity and do no harm. We support environmental and social considerations to be integrated into all Nabni funded interventions and promote environmental sustainability as well as conflict sensitivity across activities and processes. We strive to support interventions which have a sustainable positive impact long-term.
